Biigtigong Nishnaabeg invites students up to 15 to 30 years of age coming from school and returning in the fall to apply.

Under the Supervision of the Sales Manager of GMS, this position will report directly to the Summer Student Supervisor, the Maintenance Helper will be responsible to:

• Assist in the Beautification of GMS areas including Wayfare and Peninsula Inn
• Some painting of small structures
• Assist in yard work at both locations
• Help Maintenance staff with basic maintenance and upkeep
• Provide assistance to maintenance, when setting up Banquet Hall
• Assist in prepping lands for upcoming events
• Fix community signs and work on potential new signage

Requirements:

• Proper work safety gear – safety glasses, boots
• Willingness to work in the outdoors
• Basic knowledge of yard and hand tools including lawn mower, hammers, etc.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools
• Ability to take initiative and direction
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Good communication and organization skills
• Positive and energetic attitude
• Own transportation to and from job site is required
